Assignment for Class

1.) What did you learn that you did not know?   I didn't realize how easy it was to set up a blog.  There were only three steps and then poof! I was a blog author.  The biggest hurdle for me was figuring out my blog name and what to write!

2./3.).  I have a preference to the individual blog.  I feel it allows me the chance to build a repoire with that author.  I have followed many blogs and even contributed feedback.  I feel more comfortable with the individual than the group setting.  However, I just may have to adventure out and give it a whirl.

Just a New Adventure!

Well, this is one thing I didn't think I would be doing - sharing my thoughts on a blog.  Not an original idea from me, but a school project has propelled me into Blogger.

I decided that I would begin with something that has changed my world for a couple of years now.  My world was rocked when I was told I had to start anew and live my life on a gluten free plane.  Oh, how hearing those words made me so angry.  I began my new journey that day while sitting in the doctor's office - my mind running through all the foods I loved that I could no longer have.  In case you are wondering....this just fueled my anger.  :)

As we sat there and listened - all I heard was, "anything corn, rice or potato based...pretty much your guideline."  Randy and I left the office to go sit and discuss the changes coming my way and little did our family realize the changes coming.  We got home and my meals were consisting of grilled, baked, steamed and fresh foods only.  This didn't seem so awful until I went to venture out of our home.  All the limitations that seemed to stare at me.  Again fueling my anger.

So, I decided that it was time to do some research of my own.  A couple of books were suggested to me 1)  Gluten Free for Dummies and 2). Gluten Free Girl Marries a Chef.  Both of these books have made my life so much easier and I adopted the idea from the Gluten Free Girl that "don't view it as what you can't have but rather what you CAN have."  Would you believe my WHOLE outlook changed with that one thought?

In the last couple of years, I have progressed along my road.  I would like to offer that same hope to anyone who chooses to read these thoughts.  Just because we have to eat a little differently, we don't have to concede to Gluten Free Equals Boring....we just each have to concede that we have a different road to take to YUMMY!
